ARLINGTON, TEXAS — The Cowboys didn’t just answer the Commanders on Sunday.
They answered them on the scoreboard.

But after Dallas’ 37–20 victory over Washington, an explosive claim began circulating online: the Commanders had allegedly accused Dak Prescott of cheating and demanded an urgent NFL investigation.
Then came the second part of the story — an alleged 12-word response from Prescott that supposedly left everyone in the room speechless.
There is just one major problem.
Neither claim has been verified by credible reporting.
There is no reliable evidence that Washington formally accused Prescott of cheating, and no confirmed report of an NFL investigation into the Cowboys quarterback.
What is real, however, is that Prescott delivered an extraordinary response on the field.
DAK LET HIS PERFORMANCE DO THE TALKING
Coming off Dallas’ disappointing Week 1 loss to the Giants, Prescott entered the home opener under enormous pressure.
The Cowboys needed a response.
They got one.
Prescott completed 26 of 31 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns, without throwing an interception.
His performance helped Dallas defeat Washington 37–20 and move to 1–1 on the season.
Even more significant, Prescott made franchise history.
His fourth touchdown pass of the afternoon — a 24-yard strike to CeeDee Lamb late in the fourth quarter — gave him 249 career touchdown passes, moving him past Tony Romo for the most in Cowboys history.
If Washington was hoping to rattle him, there was no visible evidence of it.

THE “CHEATING” CLAIM DOESN’T MATCH THE VERIFIED RECORD
The final statistics provide an important reality check.
Dallas was penalized five times for 32 yards.
Washington was penalized five times for 38 yards.
The Cowboys committed no turnovers.
Prescott threw no interceptions.
And Dallas finished the game with a convincing 17-point victory.
The available game record contains no verified finding that Prescott or the Cowboys violated the rules through some form of cheating.
That’s why the alleged investigation should be treated cautiously.
A viral screenshot, anonymous post or dramatic social-media caption is not the same thing as an official NFL investigation.
WHAT DAK ACTUALLY SAID BEFORE THE GAME
Prescott’s real comments before the matchup were considerably less dramatic.
After the Week 1 loss to New York, he acknowledged the urgency surrounding Dallas’ home opener.
His message was simple: “We’ve got to go win.”
He also emphasized the opportunity to do it against a familiar NFC East opponent.
And that’s exactly what happened.
Dallas didn’t need a mysterious
